OPI Accounting professionals take on the critical role of performing and managing ongoing client finance & accounting operations. OPI’s wide range of accounting clients span both the middle-market and Fortune 500, and likewise cover a range of processes, from invoice processing, to the general ledger close process, to Sarbanes-Oxley support.
In this capacity, you will become part of a team responsible for the timely, accurate completion of and management of sensitive accounting operations. You will experience, first-hand, the day-to-day challenges of managing a specific function, or you may be cross-trained on several functions. Depending upon your experience level, you may also take on management responsibilities and oversee a team of professionals. No matter the service you are providing, you will develop expert levels of knowledge about the client, its processes, and its goals. Along the way you will receive training on new technical advancements as well as on organizational soft skills. You will be expected to take on additional management responsibilities and train and assist others on the team. You may also be expected to liaison with the client and could even visit the client site to work face-to-face with client employees. As your knowledge grows, you will be expected to offer your input and expertise on the function and work directly with OPI’s Quality and Six Sigma teams on ongoing improvement efforts.
Typical positions held within the Accounting team include:
- Process Associate - Process Associates typically join the team with a Bachelors degree or the equivalent, and may posses approximately 2 years of work experience, as well as basic computer skills.
- Senior Process Associate - Senior Process Associates may hold a Masters degree, be a licensed Chartered Accountant or Certified Public Accountant, have 3-4 years of work experience, and have developed good communication skills through some people or process management activities. Senior Process Associates may take on such advanced roles as Reviewer and Process Expert and may be called upon to help offer training and guidance of Process Associates.
- Team Lead - A Team Lead plays a critical role and has oversight responsibility for an entire process, end-to-end. The Team Lead will manage the Process Associates assigned to that process and will be expected to report upwards on the health, efficiency, and results of the process.
- Assistant Manager - An Assistant Manager takes on oversight responsibilities for several processes, end-to-end. The Assistant Manager will manage the Team Leads assigned to those process and will be expected to report upwards on the health, efficiency, and results of the process.
- Manager - A Manager will oversee an entire function, made up of number of processes. The Manager is highly involved in oversight of the function, reporting on results, managing the team, and oversight of ongoing process improvement efforts.
- As a professional grows and develops, additional opportunities are available as Senior Manager, General Manager, Vice President, and so on.
